The Savannah Municipal Court is held the third Wednesday of each month at 1:00 pm in the courtroom of Savannah City Hall located at 140 Main Street, Savannah, TN 38372. The presiding judge is the Honorable Nan Barlow. Savannah Municipal Court is governed under T.C.A. § 6-21-501, and can only hear C class misdemeanor cases.
Depending on the citation, you may not have to appear in court. All citations written for “Financial Responsibility” (no proof of insurance) must report to court at the appropriate time. All others may be paid before the court date. If you wish to contest the citation, you must appear in court on your assigned court date. If this is your first offense in the last 3 years and you wish to request a diversion through driving school completion, you may do so by calling 731-925-3200.
Savannah Municipal Court only honors DriveSafe Online web-based driving school. Upon approval from the court clerk, this school can be accessed at drivesafeonline.org. Use code TNCOURT for discounted pricing. Driving school costs $24.95 payable to DriveSafe. Upon completion of the course, you may email your certificate of completion to the court clerk, pay the $105 court cost, and your ticket will be reduced upon approval of the judge.
If your case resulted in your arrest or the court is listed as Hardin County General Sessions, then your case has been referred to state court because it is outside of the jurisdiction of the Savannah Municipal Court. For information on citations sent to General Sessions Court, please contact the Hardin County Court Clerk’s office at 731-925-3583.
