New Trash Pickup Provider Starts Aug. 15


Starting on August 15th, 2025
New trash pickup service provider for Savannah, TN
RaeKar

On Friday, August 15, 2025, RaeKar will begin servicing residents inside the city of Savannah.

IMPORTANT DETAILS REGARDING YOUR SERVICE:

  • Cart deliveries will begin July 21.
  • PLEASE DO NOT USE RAEKAR CART UNTIL AUGUST 15, 2025.
  • Your weekly waste collection day will remain the same.
  • On August 15th, RaeKar will begin collecting residential waste in Savannah.
  • To ensure collection, please have your RaeKar cart at the curb by 6 A.M. on your collection day.
  • RaeKar will provide you with 1 rolling trash cart. There is no additional charge for this cart. It comes with your service. Contact the City of Savannah for any additional carts needed.
  • STARTING AUGUST 15, YOU MUST USE YOUR RAEKAR CART. RAEKAR WILL NOT COLLECT TRASH PLACED IN NON-RAEKAR CARTS.
  • Billing and pricing information will go through the city of Savannah.

SANITATION SERVICES DETAILS

HOMEOWNER REQUIREMENTS

  • Do not drag the cart when moving it. Tilt and roll it with the lid closed.
  • Do not place explosives, ammunition, or firearms in the cart.
  • Do not place hot ashes, fireworks, solvents, paints, or other flammable liquids in the cart.
  • Do not use the cart to hold hazardous materials such as dead animals, chemicals, oil, liquids, and medical waste (i.e., exposed needles, used bandages, etc.)
  • Do not place dirt, grass clippings, rocks, limbs, or building materials in the cart.
  • Do not overfill the cart to the extent the lid will not fully close.
  • Do not allow children to play in or on the cart.
  • Do not place car tires, used oil, automobile batteries, oil-based paints, refrigerants, propane, or other compressed liquids in the cart.
  • Double bag loose waste like kitty litter, animal waste, sawdust, ashes, insulation, and packing peanuts.
  • Please limit the weight of your trash to 200 pounds or less.
  • Store the cart in the backyard, garage, or other convenient location. Please do not store it near a fireplace, furnace, grill, or other heat source.
  • Keep the lid closed at all times and clean the cart periodically with water.

Please follow our homeowner requirements to comply with all safety rules and regulations to keep you safe.

Should you move, please leave the cart at the residence and let the City of Savannah know of your move. The carts remain the property of RaeKar and are assigned to that residence or address.

COLLECTION DAY INFORMATION AND CART PLACEMENT

Here are a few tips for properly placing your cart on collection day.

RaeKar will be using an automatic side load truck which will be a method of collection for Savannah residents. The following instructions will help ensure your cart is properly emptied.

PARK IT: Carts should be placed within 3 feet of the street by 6 A.M. on your collection day.

POINT IT: Carts should be facing forward with the serial number toward the street. The wheels and handles should be placed away from the street.

SPACE IT: Carts should have a minimum of 3 feet of clearance on both sides. Please do not place any closer than 2 feet to poles, mailboxes, or other obstructions. Carts should be unobstructed (no vehicles parked in front of the cart).
