Items that will not be collected: Waste wood, wood products, chips, shavings, sawdust, batteries, electronics, appliances, dead animals, yard waste, tree trimmings, grass cuttings, garden trimmings, furniture, construction debris, hazardous waste and pasteboard.
Sharp objects, lancets, needles and broken glass should be placed in containers to prevent puncture to bag and workers.

Q. Can I put grass clippings or yard cleanup debris in the trash container?
A. No, these type of materials will not be collected, only household waste.
Q. Does my garbage need to be in plastic bags?
A. Yes, this provides a cleaner, safer and easier way to handle and remove.
Q. Can I put additional bags on top of my container?
A. Yes, though not encouraged, but on occasion an extra (2) two bags will be collected. Please note we will not collect over (2) two extra bags on outside of container. If you have extra bags every week it is advised that you get an extra container.
Q. Will Hazardous Waste be collected?
A. No, Hazardous Waste will not be collected. You may take your Hazardous Waste to one of the collection sites provided by Hardin County.
Q. Will they collect TV’s, rubbish, appliances, brush, leaves, construction debris, furniture or junk?
A. No, they do not collect these items. You can put these items out beside the road and call the Savannah Public Works at 731-925-5061 and they will collect these type of items (2) two times a year.
Q. If my trash can is broken or the lid is missing can I get a new one?
A. We understand that cans do not last indefinitely but should be good for several years if properly maintained. Customers are allowed one new can per year if their old can is in need of repair due to normal use. Should a second can be required within the one year time frame cost of the new can will be billed to the customer.
Q. When do I need to put my container out for pickup?
A. Put container out the evening prior to scheduled time, pickups may be collected earlier than set schedule. Remove container as soon as possible after emptied.
