Parks and Recreation
Savannah has a year round recreation program, which is managed by the Parks and Recreation Department. Sports activities such as softball, baseball, T-ball, volleyball, tennis, soccer and special events are available for children as well as adults. These activities take place at one of the following locations:
City Park - a 44 acre park with playground, pavilions, restrooms, lighted tennis courts, baseball fields, and walking trails.
Wayne Jerrolds River Park - contains a boat ramp, amphitheater, pavilions, restrooms, picnic area, and scenic overlook. This park is host to the annual Tennessee River Bluegrass Festival held each July.
Hank Deberry Complex - a four-field softball and T-ball facility with playground, concessions, restrooms, and a basketball court. Savannah Youth Baseball, Inc. is a Dixie Youth Baseball league for boys, ages 7-12. Baseball games are played on the three-field Harbert Baseball Complex, which is owned jointly by the city and county. Hardin County Dixie Baseball League is for ages 13-18 and utilizes two baseball fields at Savannah City Park.
The Parks and Recreation Department also assists with field maintenance for Hardin County Youth Football, NAIA National Football Championships, and Hardin County High School football.
